Start your machining journey or take your skills to the next level with this hands-on course that blends manual machining fundamentals with an introduction to CNC programming and operations. This course lays the groundwork for a machining career, whether you are new to the trade or building on existing skills.
Students will gain experience using shop tools such as the drill press, band saw, surface grinder, engine lathe, and vertical mill while learning to read blueprints, take precise measurements, and create basic G-code programs to operate CNC mills and lathes. You will perform real-world machining tasks, including drilling, tapping, boring, and turning, while building technical skills and personal confidence.
Students receive a Certificate of Completion for 72 instructional hours at the end of the course. Toolkits will be provided.
NOTE—Safety glasses, jeans, and steel-toe work boots are required. This program is WIOA (Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act) approved, providing added financial support for eligible students.
