Precision Machining Technology Program
This precision machinist technology training will provide you with the basic experience and knowledge to obtain an entry-level career in the machining industry. The hands-on machining skills training will cover how to make simple 2D designs, develop a manufacturing process, learn basic skills on the drill press, band saw, surface grinder, engine lathe and vertical mill, CNC mill, and CNC lathe. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools or repair industrial equipment. In 2017, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projected the median pay for machinists to be $42,600 per year with a growing number of job openings due to the need to replace workers who are retiring.
